This accident occurred at the junction of Highfield lane on to Myddleton lane.

Hundreds of commuters use this cut thourgh daily to miss the build up on traffic at the Winwick Park junction and the A49.

On a good day it is already a very difficult 'get out' with the visibility to see if it is safe to turn hampered by the bend in the road and the often excessive speeds some drivers take, but at the moment it is virtually impossible to get on to Myddleton lane because the hedgerow looking left towards Croft and the bushes in the garden of the house to the right looking towards Winwick church are overgrown and make the visibility virtually zero.
So drivers stick their nose out a bit at a time to try and see and turn.

It was only a matter a time before all these factors resulted in a failry hefty bump!

I am gald everyone is ok but it would help if the 30mph speed limit for Winwick actually covered the whole of the village (which it does not) instead of ending on the bridge over the M6 slip road. There must be 20 houses after the bridge before this turning that are part of the same village!
As for the hedgerow I am not sure if its WBC or the farmer who should keep it trimmed but it would help if the visibilty out from the junction was improved too.

spot on Winwick Pig, although I don't use this to miss out the roundabout / junction, I take it because its the most direct route home. And not a single day goes by without seeing drivers on the phone - and more common now texting somewhere on the drive to and from work. Nothing to indicate it played any part in this accident - just that I'm amazed we don't get more accidents, drivers going too fast, too close and not paying attention. Certain makes of car do seam worse than others, I don't know whats worse behind me now, a white van or a German car from a prestige company. :)
