THERE was a real wartime spirit around this year’s Lymm May Queen as many of the floats took inspiration from the 70th anniversary of D-Day.
Waving their Union Jack flags, many of the participants were dressed to impress as Land Girls and Flying Aces pilots during the procession through the village on a sunny Saturday.
Lymm resident Marjorie Jones said: “I love watching Lymm May Queen every year and think the floats look fantastic this year.
“It’s great to see so many people putting in the effort.”
On the day, Esme Stevens, aged 11, was crowned May Queen and Zoe Thompson, aged eight, took the title of Rose Queen.
