A RISLEY supply teacher agency is urging people to recognise the ‘unsung heroes’ of education as part of National Supply Teacher Week.
On average there are 41,000 temporary teachers working in British schools each week as supply teachers are being called to fill the gaps in education.
Karl Housley, director of PK education north west, which is based on Chadwick Place, said: “Supply teachers are highly skilled professionals who rarely get the recognition and appreciation that they deserve.
“We deal with 100s of supply teachers throughout the region each year who all play a vital role in our children’s education.
“National Supply Teacher Week is an ideal opportunity to raise awareness of these unsung heroes.”
