Coldplay
Ghost Stories

IT is hard to deny the success Chris Martin and Coldplay have enjoyed.

Milions upon millions of records sold, thousands upon thousands of seats sold at stadiums across the world, and some of the most played songs produced in the past decade.

The sixth studio album Ghost Stories continues along the theme.

While the lyrics may be more sombre given his recent split with Gwyneth Paltrow, the music follows a similar pattern.

Very pleasant music, well produced - and you can almost see the array of light displays accompanying the tracks on tour as you listen.

But Sky Full of Stars apart (and even that struggles to tick every box) there is no Vida la Vida or Paradise here.

That is not to say it is bad.

Just quite a sad, downbeat record and what must be a sad and downbeat moment in Martin’s life.
