Bus service cuts on the way at Network Warrington

First published in News

A NUMBER OF bus routes are set to change from next month.

Network Warrington will bring in the changes as part of plans to simplify the network and cut services where they say there are low passenger numbers.

The changes are among the most significant changes the company has made in a number of years and all routes will be affected.

Damian Graham, interim managing director, said: “We have redesigned our network in certain areas to improve reliability and to better serve our customers’ needs. Some customers will just notice a slight timetable change, but for others we have changed the route or the service number so it is important to find out how the changes have affected your service before you travel.”

All customers are advised to go to networkwarrington.co.uk or to visit the Travel Centre to pick up a new timetable before Monday, June 2 when the new routes start.

I thought the aim was to get more people on to public transport? although it still costs less to use petrol to drive into warrington, pay for parking, and use petrol to drive out again... than it is to buy a rtn ticket from orford, so am not sure how it was ever going to work, I think it was just one of those statements some council people used to get votes.

Afraid to say new routes are not working, Passengers being left due to buses being full (Post 0930), drivers being verbally abused.
School children having to wait an hour outside school till it opens because next bus makes them late for lessons, likewise schoolchildren, now left with no service to get them home. A **** up all round.
