BARONESS Helen Newlove opened the first National Volunteer Cadet Leaders Conference.

She attended the event held at the Lancashire Police headquarters that saw volunteer police and fire service cadet leads from across the country gather together.

Nothing but a PR exercise by the tories. While having sympathy with what happened to her, I have seen no evidence (including interviews and her GCSE level report produced a few years ago) that would justify her appointment.
