THE Cheshire Building Society in Lymm will close by the autumn, the Warrington Guardian has learned.
The changes are part of Nationwide’s plan to merge with the Cheshire Building Society, whose customers will now be able to access their accounts through Nationwide.
The nearest store for both Nationwide and Cheshire Building Society customers will be on Sankey Street.
A spokesman said: “The new branch network in the Cheshire area will give both Cheshire and Nationwide customers access to a greater number of branches.
“In Cheshire, customers will benefit as the number of branches these customers can access will grow from 32 to 55.
“For Nationwide customers, the number of branches is also growing in Cheshire, from 39 to 55. All members will be able to operate their accounts at more than 700 branches across the UK.”
Currently no jobs are at risk.
