BBC Question Time cameras rolled into Warrington on Thursday.

David Dimbleby and guests were at the Pyramid in the town centre for the popular BBC One political debate programme.

The panel featured Liberal Democrat MP Danny Alexander, Labour MP and shadow health secretary Andy Burhnam, Conservative MP Dominic Raab, former director of the centre for policy studies Jill Kirby, and crime writer Val McDermid.

The panel discussed a range of current affairs topics chosen by the audience. Among the issues debated were the growth of the economy in the north and the controversial HS2 high speed rail link taking into account the affects it will have in the region.

It’s the second time the programme has been hosted from Warrington.

Maureen Banner, chairman of Culture Warrington, said: “It’s wonderful that Question Time decided to use one of our venues to film such a popular programme.

"It really shows the versatility of Pyramid as a building; not only does it have the capacity to host performances and exhibitions but can also facilitate a major television production”.

Photographer Ian Park was back stage to take these pictures as the filming took place.
