THIS bride-to-be has got her something borrowed sorted after winning a national competition but still has to search for something primrose and blue ahead of tying the knot with a former Warrington Wolves player.

Appleton girl Emily Ball met utility man James Mendeika during his brother’s Warrington Bootcamp classes before he popped the question in November.

With plenty to organise for the big day in 2015, Emily and James, who now plays for Featherstone Rovers, have been celebrating after securing a Rolls Royce to their venue thanks to the ‘Deliver the bride’ competition with comparison site Any Van.

Emily, aged 23, said: “I was in shock as I really didn’t think we would win.

“I’m looking forward to finding a dress that matches the car now as people have been saying I can’t have a big dress in a Rolls as it will get creased.

“My best friend Lydia entered us and I was so pleased to win as my dad has been very generous covering lots of costs and it’s nice to be able to reduce that.

“Lydia clearly knows my taste very well because she picked the perfect transport for our wedding.”

The lucky couple, who have been seeing each other for 18 months, got engaged in Cancun in Mexico in November during a moonlit stroll along the beach following the ‘first perfect weather day’.

Emily, who works for an online marketing company in London, said she was completely surprised but delighted to say yes after catching James’ eye during the bootcamp sessions.

She added: “James was one of the trainers and said I had impeccable star jumps!

“We’re so happy and can’t wait for the wedding day now.”
