STEAMPUNKS will be stomping around and fairies will be sprinkling their magic dust as part of the first fantasy convention in Warrington.

Julie Morrisroe, who runs leather armour and props business Cosmic Workshop in Birchwood, and gothic photographer Amanda Norman are organising fantasy convention, Otherworlds.

There will be something for fans of horror, fantasy, sci-fi and role playing games and much more at the Fearnhead campus of Chester University on April 5 and 6.

Julie, who recently won Manga UK’s Best Female Cosplayer, and Amanda will even be attempting to smash two Guinness World Records.

On the Saturday they will be trying to clinch the record for the largest gathering of fairies.

And on Sunday they will attempting to beat San Diego Comic-Con’s record for the most steampunks in one place.

I'm reminded of the fate of a young gentleman who tried to walk along Bridge St on a Saturday night dressed as a Roman centurion, something to do with a stag night if memory serves.
It did not end well.
Stay safe ladies and gents, stay out of the town centre...
