A fifth person has been arrested as part of an investigation into more than 150 burglaries including 21 in Warrington.

A 45-year-old man was the latest arrest on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary at an address in Rochdale this morning, Thursday, as part of Operation Edendale.

He is currently in police custody.

Three people have already been charged and one bailed pending further inquiries as part of the investigation into burglaries across Cheshire and Greater Manchester.

Daryl Kennedy, of HMP Forest Bank, Antony Bell, of Mitchells Quay, Failsworth and Rosemary Pollard, of Elvate Crescent, Cheetham Hill, have all been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary between April 1 and December 31, 2013.

They are next due in court on April, 25 2014.

A fourth man aged 31 from Salford was also arrested and bailed until 12 March 2014 pending further inquiries.

During a spate of burglaries, nine homes in Grappenhall were targeted as well as eight in Thelwall, two in Lymm and two in Stockton Heath.
