TWO dogs have enjoyed their first Christmas since being freed from a couple who subjected them to ‘appalling’ cruelty.
Greg and Piddy waited for Santa and enjoyed a festive meal in the loving Great Sankey home of new owner Siobhan Williams.
As revealed in the Warrington Guardian, the Staffordshire Bull Terriers were taken in by the RSPCA volunteer in August last year.
She said the ‘sweet natured’ dogs were in the worst condition of any she had cared for.
Former owners John and Karen Anderson, of Kingsway South, were banned from keeping animals for 10 years after admitting to animal cruelty.
They kept the Staffys locked in a cage 22 hours a day for two years, starved and badly emaciated.
