CULCHETH: FEARS have been raised that the stretch of road from Wilton Lane to the junction of Hob Hey Lane in Culcheth is being used as a rat run.
Some Broseley Avenue residents have told Clr Matt Smith that they have had problems reversing out of their drives due to the speed of oncoming cars.
Clr Smith said: “Broseley Avenue is just one area of the village where speeding traffic continues to pose a risk to people’s safety.
“It is crucial that we recognise these hot spots and take action accordingly.
“Residents have shown commitment to resolving this issue by setting up a speedwatch group.
“I now feel the borough council should make use of devices which can be placed on the road, and used to measure the speed and frequency of traffic.
“This helps the police identify the particular times when the problem is most acute and station officers there accordingly.”
