TWO apprentices at Warrington Borough Council have been spreading the word of their work across the borough.

During their time at the council, Alice Myer and Hannah Jones received extra training to become ‘apprenticeship ambassadors’ and now champion apprenticeships and spread the word at events and in Warrington’s chools and colleges.

The pair took part in Global Entrepreneur Week (GEW) and attended North West Women’s Enterprise Day, last month at Cranage.

The pair started their apprenticeships at the council last January; Alice as a project worker, for the neighbourhoods team, and Hannah as a regeneration and business support assistant for Warrington & Co.

Alice said: “It was brilliant to be part of this event and to be representing Warrington on a national stage. My apprenticeship with the council has opened the door to so many brilliant opportunities and I really would encourage other people to take one up if given the chance.

“I've experienced first hand what an apprenticeship can do for you. It’s got me the career that I wanted and being an ambassador allows me to help others to do the same thing!"

Hannah said: "It’s a great feeling to help young people choose which path is best for them. I wish I had had someone of my own age to talk to when I was faced with the same decisions".
