BURTONWOOD-born comedy actor Jason Mannion is back on our screens this Christmas in a new advertising campaign.

The 43-year-old, who left his job as a youth worker to try to break the entertainment industry six years ago, will feature in the new advert for Roy ‘Chubby’ Brown’s DVD.

Jason, who uses the stage name El Baldiniho, said: “I have done a lot of extra work and it has just progressed from there.”

Having starred in The Mad Bad Ad Show in 2012, which was directed by comedians Mark Watson, Mickey Flanagan and Rufus Hound, Jason is no stranger to seeing his face plastered around the UK on adverts.

He said: “I have seen my face on huge billboards and on the side of bus stops.

“It’s a little strange but I don’t look at it and see myself.

“You don’t connect with it because it’s a bit of a weird thing to see.”

Jason who has also appeared in John Bishop’s Britain on BBC One in 2011, was a late starter in the entertainment industry but is determined to make his own mark on the showbiz world.

He said: “I first got into the entertainment industry through playing in bands around Warrington. I was in a band called The Wallflowers in the late 1980s.

“We played the Parr Hall a few times and it gave me a taste for performing live.”

Spending most of his time on set, Jason enjoys the ‘buzz’ you get from filming and working with other actors and comedians.

He added: “It’s such a laugh being on set and it often doesn’t feel like work.”
