LOGISTIC giant Norbert Dentressangle has announced 1,000 jobs will be created to cope with the Christmas peak.
The company, which has a number of bases in the town, including a large warehouse on Kingsland Grange in Woolston, announce the recruitment drive this week as part of a nationwide plan to create 6,500 jobs.
The company says many of the seasonal roles, many also have the potential to become permanent, to cope with growth in Norbert Dentressangle’s major on-line and multi-channel retail operations.
Mark Simmons, HR director at Norbert Dentressangle Logistics UK Ltd, said: “There is always a need to increase headcount at this time of year, however, the growth of our business over the last 12 months, especially in the retail sector, has led to the creation of an unprecedented number of roles.”
