A KWIK Fit garage in Warrington has been chosen for a rennovation - at a time when the company is taking on 150 apprentices.

Clr Terry O’Neill, council leader, came to meet the team at the Priestley Street branch and to officially declare the centre open.

The Warrington centre was chosen for the investment from Kwik Fit’s UK network of more than 600 centres because of the commitment the staff have made in serving the local community.

Clr O’Neill said: “The investment that the new owners of Kwik Fit have poured into the local centre is very good news for Warrington and its motorists.

“The town is very fortunate that the company selected the Priestly Street branch for refurbishment with all the latest technology and equipment over hundreds of others.

“It’s commendable that there’s an apprenticeship scheme in place to give unemployed young people a helping hand by creating jobs and giving them some valuable career skills.

“I hope young people in Warrington will see the benefit and apply for the programme.”

The centre manager of Kwik Fit Warrington, Darren Walker said: “All the team at Priestly Street take great pride in our work and now we have a working environment that matches our ambition to deliver the best possible service.

“It’s also good news for the community because we are now armed with top of the range equipment that will allow us to serve our customers even better than before. We are all really excited and can’t wait to get going.”

The company is looking to take on 150 apprentices this year.
