ONE company embracing the need for apprenticeships more than most is Moore Finance.

Based in Higher Whitley, the company chairman Nigel Garner is so committed to getting work for young people, he set up the Moore Academy.

For the past two years, the company, which arranges finance packages and money lending services to businesses in the north of England, has also had a deal with Warrington Collegiate to provide apprenticeships.

Frank Noel, managing director, puts the success down to Mr Garner.

He said: “He has been inspiration in my life since I started to work for him back in 1996 and his drive and ambition to provide opportunities to young people within our company is second to none.

“He set up the Moore Academy providing opportunities for young people to gain experience within the Warrington area and provide them with the opportunities of a successful career.”

Mr Garner said the company wanted to be involved in order to help meet the rising number of people not in education, employment or training.

He added: “We are looking at getting more involved.

“It is great for the apprentice too because they can get experience not just with us, but with some of the companies we help to finance as well.

“And then at the end of the scheme, we can either hire them or maybe they find a role with one of our clients.

“Young people really bring fresh energy to our company and that is a great thing to have for any business.”
