DRIVERS are being told to avoid motorways around Warrington as Creamfields starts today, Friday.

The Highways Agency is advising motorists that traffic is likely to be busy around the M56 and M6 all over bank holiday weekend.

Junction 11 on the M56 will be used to access the festival.

Creamfields opens today at 2pm. Music finishes at 2pm on Sunday, with campers expecting to be leaving the Daresbury site until Monday afternoon.

Anyone travelling to the event is advised to leave plenty of time for the journey.
