WENDY Parry has been handed an OBE in the Queen's birthday honours list.
The mother of Bridge Street bombing victim Tim marked 20 years since her son was killed in March and 18 years since the charity Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace was created.
Since then she has worked tirelessly to raise funds for the foundation’s programmes supporting victims of terrorism.
Husband Colin Parry earlier tweeted: “She deserves this recognition for all she's done in Tim's memory.”
Meanwhile Avis Freeman, from Warrington, has been honoured for her services to the communities of Wigan and Leigh.
