RUGBY legend Austin Healey has backed a new campaign from the group behind the UK’s biggest outdoor fitness classes.

British Military Fitness (BMF) at Birchwood Forest Park wants to inspire the nation to burn off two million calories.

To get people off the sofa BMF has arranged four free one hour classes between now and July.

Former England and Lions rugby player Austin Healey said: “As a nation we are becoming more obese and less active.

“Working with British Military Fitness inspire people to swap their slippers for a pair of trainers.

“It’s a level playing field.

Everyone is new and giving it a go for the first time.

“Combine this with an expert team of ex-military instructors, plenty of banter, and a really effective workout, and you can see why it is the perfect way to kick-start your fitness this summer.”

Free Saturday sessions at Birchwood Forest Park are on May 11, June 1, June 29 and July 20, all at 9.30am.
