FIRE crews have rescued a family following a fire in Culcheth.

The fire happened on Saturday around 6.20pm on Allen Avenue and fire crews rescued the residents.

One child was treated for smoke inhalation by ambulance crews.

Fire crews said they found the ground floor well alight when they arrived and used a fan to remove the smoke from the property as well as hoses to treat the flames.
