CO-OPERATIVE members in Warrington have awarded £486 to Culcheth Guides to buy new camping equipment.
Jessica Burke, from the 7th Culcheth Senior Section, said: “Funding is becoming harder to secure so we were delighted to hear that we were successful in securing this grant from The Co-operative.
“The cash has made a huge difference to our group and it means all the more knowing that the money has been donated by local people.”
The grant came from The Co-operative’s Community Fund, accumulated by member customers opting to donate all or part of their annual dividend to good causes.
David Appleton, from The Co-operative’s Cheshire membership team, said: “Supporting communities has been an inherent part of our values and principles since the very beginning of the Co-operative Movement.”
