A SPECIAL art exhibition was hailed a success by Penketh residents at The Olive Tree Community Centre and Methodist Church.
The pieces on display were the result of 10 weeks of painting scenes from around the district through the Older People Engagement Group project, which was set up after statistics found west Warrington had a higher than average older population.
A spokesman said: “Some older people feel isolated, have little confidence, suffer from low self-esteem and some have health issues. “The aim of the project is to encourage older people to socially engage, learn new skills and make friends”
Photographs from the past and present were also on display thanks to the Penketh Heritage Society.
