Twenty years ago Warrington was rocked by an IRA bomb attack which killed two children in the town. March 20 marks 20 years since the 1993 bombings. Over the next week, we will be looking at what happened then through the eyes of some of the key people involved.
AN exhibition to commemorate the 20 years since the IRA attacks in Warrington opens on Monday at Pyramid.
Commissioned by Warrington Borough Council and The Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation, it shows the development of the town since the 1993 bombing.
The exhibition not only remembers the events of March 1993 but also examines what has happened since.
There are two elements – a visual experience created by a moving wallpaper projection that takes visitors through the events leading up to March 20 and the days and years afterwards.
In addition there will be small touch screen tablets that will allow visitors to explore articles and features that document how Warrington turned its hatred and anger into a positive.
It will be open to the public from Monday until Thursday, April 18 at Pyramid, in the gallery on the top floor.
