Twenty years ago Warrington was rocked by an IRA bomb attack which killed two children in the town. March 20 marks 20 years since the 1993 bombings. Over the next week, we will be looking at what happened then through the eyes of some of the key people involved.

VISITORS from the city of Lisburn in Northern Ireland will be meeting the Mayor of Warrington before commemorative events in the town for the 20th anniversary of the Warrington bombing.

Clr Steve Wright will be welcoming the Mayor of Lisburn Alderman William Leatham for a special ceremony on Friday from 7pm at the town hall where both Mayors will officially sign a joint declaration proclaiming their commitment to the ‘fostering of friendly relations’.
