POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old man was attacked for his bag in Woolston Linear Park.

The incident took place on Monday at 4.15pm.

When walking in the park towards Whitchurch Close the victim was approached by two men.

They tried to take his bag before assaulting him with two other men then joining them and taking part in the attack.

The gang then ran off empty handed leaving the teenager with minor injuries.

The first man is described as white, aged in his late teens to early 20s, around 5ft 9ins tall and of stocky build.

He wore a white t-shirt, grey tracksuit bottoms, white trainers and a yellow woolen hat with ear flaps.

The second man is described as white, aged in his late teens to early 20s, around 5ft 9ins tall and of slim build.

He wore glasses, a black short sleeved top, blue shorts and black trainers.

The third man is described as white, around 5ft 9ins to 6ft tall, aged in his late teens to early 20s and of average build.

He wore a black tracksuit and black trainers.

The fourth man is described as white, aged in his late teens to early 20s, around 5ft 9ins to 6ft tall, of slim build with a short ginger beard.

He wore a grey long sleeved jumper, blue jeans and brown shoes or trainers.
