Chinese man admits growing Bridge Street cannabis farm

A CHINESE man has admitted growing cannabis plants with a street value of £338,000 in a restaurant on Bridge Street.

Lin Q Ying was charged with cultivating 1,126 plants between February 24 and March 4 this year.

Police raided the address, the Happy Wok restaurant on Bridge Street, on Tuesday, March 4.

Speaking through a translator at Warrington Crown Court on Tuesday Mr Ying admitted tending to the plants, but said he had not originally known they were illegal.

The 38-year-old will appear for sentencing on Tuesday, June 3.
