Danniella Westbrook has been booted out of Dancing On Ice after a dramatic semi-final.

The EastEnders star scored 23 out of 30 as she skated to David Guetta's When Love Takes Over with partner Matthew Gonzalez during the ITV ice skating show.

But the 36-year-old's gutsy performance was deemed not good enough to earn a place in the final.

Instead Gary Lucy, Kieron Richardson and Hayley Tamaddon, who overcame a rib injury, will now battle it out for the ice crown.

Danniella was magnanimous in defeat. She said: "To come this far is amazing, it's been an absolute journey. Chris and Jayne, the reason I joined this show was to skate with you."

Gary, 28, who has appeared in Footballers' Wives, The Bill and Hollyoaks, scored 24.5 out of 30. The actor and his partner Maria Filippov skated to You And Me by The Wannadies.

Speaking after his performance, he said: "I'm just so relieved, I didn't trip, I didn't drop Maria, I didn't take the cameraman out. It went well. It was great."

Former Emmerdale star Hayley and partner Daniel Whiston had the evening's highest score with 27.5 as they skated to Bette Midler hit In My Life. The 33-year-old is favourite to win the celebrity skating contest.
