Wasting Light, The Foo Fighters

To me this is a perfect rock album. Each song is different yet the album is so consistent.

The Foo’s sound is mature and much heavier which I love and this album has inspired me a lot with the new material I am writing at the moment.

For me the most impressive thing about Wasting Light is that it was recorded in frontman Dave Grohl’s garage, this gives it a raw yet still impeccable sound.

Master of Puppets, Metallica

As a young girl that would usually be singing Avril Lavigne on PlayStation SingStar, getting introduced to Metallica by my dad really changed the way I saw (well, heard) music.

The guitar sounds, the aggressive vocals...I loved it and it was the thing that got me hooked on angry and heavy music.

Iowa, Slipknot

Now some people may be a little shocked at this one but Slipknot are one of my all-time favourite bands.

I don’t think I would have survived my troublesome teenage years without Slipknot to vent too and I still love them now.

I picked Iowa as my favourite Slipknot album for the simple fact every song is really heavy and there are no pointless ballads.

Surfing With The Alien, Joe Satriani

Now I wouldn’t say this is an album that I listen to regularly but it is one that has shaped me hugely as an artist so I think it deserves a place.

This is another album my dad introduced me to as a kid and it was this album that made me learn guitar.

I thought it was amazing how much one man could do with just a guitar, the album is fully instrumental and would make my imagination run wild as you can perceive the songs however you want.

Paramore (self-titled)

There are many influential artists I could have picked for my last slot...Led Zeppelin, Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones even Them Crooked Vultures.

But in terms of albums I listen to the most this has to be my guilty pleasure.

Many people aren’t a fan of Paramore’s new sound on this album but I just think it is so much fun.

I feel as if I can relate to every single lyric and the album helped me through a tough time I went through not so long ago as I find it soothing and positive.

When performing the songs on this album singer Hayley Williams is explosive and has been a huge influence on the way I perform on stage, showing that women can rock just as hard as men!
