BIRCHWOOD band The Stocks have been together for six years and are looking forward to performing for the fourth time at the festival.

The Stocks are singer Luke Scott, aged 23, from Birchwood, drummer Tom Lowe, aged 23, from Cinnamon Brow, bass player Kev Nickson, aged 23, from Birchwood, bass and Matthew Johnson, aged 22, from Birchwood on guitar.

Tom said: “It’s a really good experience playing to bigger crowds.

“The general public know about the festival now rather than just playing to a crowd of musicians.”

Singer Luke described their sound as eclectic.

He said: “We go through phases to keep things fresh.

“Influences can be anything from 60s to Brit pop or dance music.”

The band picked out Open Rain as the track that fans sing along to and are looking forward to meeting other bands at the festival. Tom added: “When there’s a bigger crowd you’ll double check your sticks so they don’t snap but overall it’s more encouraging than one person clapping you!”

The Stocks will be on the Golden Square stage at 3pm next Saturday.
