SOUNDS of the City festival is coming back for 2018 with five big shows taking place at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl over the summer.

The concert series will launch on June 29 with a headline set by indie rockers Shed Seven, who recently returned with their comeback album, Instant Pleasures.

Then on June 30 FAC 51 The Haçienda and Manchester Camerata will again team up for Haçienda Classiçal, a celebration of Manchester’s Haçienda on an orchestral scale.

On July 1 The Levellers and New Model Army will present A Beautiful Day experience.

Rag’n’Bone Man leads the line-up on July 4. The Brit Award-winning performer is making his return to the live scene after his smash debut record, Human, sold nearly 900,000 copies.

Then former Beautiful South duo Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott plus Elvis Costello, returning to the UK after a Las Vegas residency, will close the festival on July 6.

Castlefield Bowl in Manchester city centre has played host to sold out shows from Arcade Fire, Richard Ashcroft, Blossoms, James, Catfish And The Bottlemen, Stereophonics, James Bay, Noel Gallagher, The Charlatans, Paolo Nutini, Pixies and The Courteeners over the past five years.
