Rat Boy
For fans of: Jamie T, The Streets, Shaun Ryder
RAT Boy has a lot to say.
Tales of growing up in suburban Britain, his opposition to UKIP, youth culture's love of Fred Perry and even the crimes of Crazy Titch, it all makes it way into the rapper's lyrics.
But when Rat Boy, whose real name is Jordan Cardy, started out and found that school offered him little he instead found inspiration in one of the most unlikely places – a job at Wetherspoons.
He said: "I wrote a lot of lyrics in Wetherspoons, just sitting at table writing about people in there.
"Afterwards, I’d ride my bike home at night, and stop to record drunk people’s conversations. Eventually I got fired..."
- Rat Boy performs at the Ruby Lounge in Manchester on September 21
