LONELY The Brave’s debut album is as crafted and accomplished as it is ambitious and bristling with energy.

The Cambridge quintet seemingly came out of nowhere just a short while ago with soaring tracks like Victory Line and Backroads and if their CD, The Day’s War, is anything to go by they have got some big things ahead of them.

Frontman David Jakes has the kind of powerful and yet soothing voice which fits perfectly with the evocative guitar-led music.

Lonely The Brave are the kind of band that prove that alternative rock is not all about raucous distorted guitars.

For all the bold and heavy moments on the album, there are delicate and stirring ones – and both parts of the band’s sound are brilliant with an obvious chemistry between the four members.

What is also striking is that Lonely The Brave’s anthemic tracks like Trick Of The Light sound like they have been recorded by a band that have spent years honing their craft. The fact that The Day’s War is their debut album is remarkable.
