THE Chemical Brothers are leading a star line-up for this year's Parklife festival in Manchester on June 11 and 12.

Held at Heaton Park, the event's seventh anniversary promises the best in dance, indie, pop and hip-hop.

Rapper Ice Cube will be joining dance music pioneers the Chemical Brothers on the main stage on Saturday following the announcement of his new album, Everything’s Corrupt, due out in May.

Sunday sees electric music act Major Lazer as headliner along with performances from grime kingpin Skepta, hip-hop stalwart Busta Rhymes and appearances from UK talents Jess Glynne and Katy B.

Also among the top billed are Brit award-winning four-piece Bastille, alternative rockers Wolf Alice and BBC Sound of 2016 winner Jack Garratt.

Years and Years will also feature alongside the iconic sounds of Soul II Soul, with legendary disco outfit the Earth, Wind and Fire experience.

It will feature Grammy award-winner Al McKay who is set to deliver a masterclass in jazz, funk and R&B.

Drum and bass innovators Chase and Status and Andy C will be hosting their own stage takeovers on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Meanwhile, Craig David will be making his comeback with the help of Kurupt FM and Sub Focus.

A host of DJ talent will round off the festival's diverse music selection led by Groove Armada, MK, Seth Troxler, The Martinez Brothers, Jamie Jones, Four Tet, Jamie XX and Armand Van Helden.

Parklife will see 140,000 music fans descend on Manchester.

It is also the festival's fourth year at Heaton Park where Stone Roses played their homecoming after the first reunion show and warm-up gig at Parr Hall in 2012.
