AFTER being voted 'best duo' in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2013, Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman are back on tour and coming to Warrington.

The husband and wife duo had been absent from the music scene for almost a decade before their acclaimed album, Hidden People, was released.

Sean was busy touring the world with his famous brother Seth Lakeman's band while Kathryn brought up the couple’s twin daughters in Devon.

Now refreshed, the pair are ready to take on the music world again and this year alone Sean has already worked in the studio with the likes of The Levellers, Billy Bragg, Frank Turner, Imelda May and Bellowhead.

In her early days, Kathryn teamed up with folk icon Kate Rusby and their award-winning album led to her being the first singer to win the revered BBC Young Tradition award.

This year, Kathryn was also asked to join the legendary folk rock band Fotheringay, stepping into the shoes of the late great Sandy Denny.

The pair, who were signed to a major label as teenagers, have also released a new record called Tomorrow Will Follow Today which has already been highly praised by critics and fans.

- Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman will perform at the Pyramid on Thursday, November 5. Tickets are £16. Visit pyramidparrhall.com or call the box office on 442345.
