A DJ who grew up in Warrington and now headlines clubs in Ibiza is coming back to the town for a house music night at FC2.

Martin Doorly – who is now better known as Doorly – was inspired to become a DJ after his regular trips to Warrington's Hot Waxx record shop run by Barry May.

These days he lives in Los Angeles, regularly finds himself on Pete Tong's essential mix and will be headlining Shelter in Ibiza all summer.

Doorly has also worked alongside the likes of The Prodigy, Dizzee Rascal, Kanye West and Basement Jaxx.

But he will returning to his home town for a night at FC2 in Barbauld Street on Saturday, August 1.

Darren Reynolds, DJ and operations director, said: "Doorly is not just a DJ, he’s a radio presenter, club promoter, producer, record label owner and a performing artist in his own right, enjoying massive summer success last year with Piano Weapon.

"And he is no stranger to Warrington, Martin is actually a Warrington lad through and through, brought up on the sounds of Barry May and Hot Waxx records in the town.

"Doorly coming home will be a night to remember, with ticket selling fast, the club has a whole host of Warrington talent supporting.

"It all looks set for one special summer night under the stars in Warrington."

Doorly's rise to stardom started in Huddersfield after moving there for university and hosting his own club nights.

He was then talent spotted by Radio 1’s Pete Tong and featured on his show in 2008 as an up-and-coming artist. This then lead to plays of Doorly's own remixes on the station and DJ sets all over the world.

Doorly is the latest booking for FC2 after club nights with the likes of Patrick Topping, Santa, WAFF and David Glass.
