MANCHESTER indie rockers Darktown Jubilee are returning to play a hometown show with songs from their new album, City of Light.

The record is the follow up to the quartet's 2013 debut, The World, The Flesh and The Devil.

Darktown Jubilee's album launch and gig will be at The Deaf Institute on Saturday July 11.

The band, made up of frontman David Boardman, lead guitarist Al Roberts, bassist Stuart Day and drummer Matt Sale were inspired by New Order and The Smiths as well as contemporary artists like The Courteeners and Editors.

David said: "The album has been recorded over the last few months and has been a real collaborative effort with everyone pitching in ideas. We’re very proud of it."
