THE stars of Disney's first live action show to be set in the UK are returning to Warrington.

Evermoor has been renewed for a full series with 20 episodes to be filmed by BAFTA award-winning production company Lime Pictures this summer.

All the sets will again be created in a studio in Hardwick Grange in Woolston with stately home Arley Hall, near Northwich, portraying the exterior of Evermoor Manor.

The Evermoor Chronicles tells the story of Tara Crossley, an American teenager played by Naomi Sequeira who is uprooted from her city home in the US for a new start in rural England.

The series explores themes of teen friendship, family and romance, which are set to the backdrop of a strange and magical world.

Among the young cast returning are George Sear, Jordan Loughran, Georgia Lock and Georgie Farmer.

They are all hoping for stardom as the Disney Channel has previously launched the careers of the likes of Zac Efron and Selena Gomez.

The ensemble cast also includes Belinda Stewart-Wilson, from The Inbetweeners and Ordinary Lies, Georgie Glen from Les Miserables, My Week With Marilyn and Calendar Girls, Olivier Award winner Clive Rowe and Sharon Morgan from Torchwood.

Evermoor was viewed in around 160 countries when it originally aired as a four-part mini-series last October.

It attracted more than 1.6 million viewers in the UK becoming the second highest rated series on the Disney Channel.

The series was particularly popular with girls aged between eight and 12 with one in five of that age group tuning in.

Evermoor was co-created by Diane Whitley and Tim Compton who worked together on House of Anubis with writer Bede Blake.

Executive producer Rebecca Hodgson previously worked on Good Cop which starred Warrington's Warren Brown.

David Levine, general manager for Disney Channels UK and Ireland said: “We’re delighted that the mini-series has proven to be a hit with audiences around the world.

"Viewer feedback has been incredibly encouraging and it’s clear that our audience has built a strong connection with the characters and their backstories in such a short space of time.

"The Evermoor Chronicles is our biggest and most successful homegrown live-action production."

Steve Hamilton, Arley Hall's general manager added: “It was magical for us to see Arley transformed into Evermoor and clearly young viewers were spellbound too.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming back the cast and crew and hope many of the young viewers will pay ‘the real Evermoor’ a visit.”

Warrington seems to have become a mini Hollywood over the last few months.

As well as Evermoor, Ordinary Lies was set at John Stuart Car Superstore in Orford Lane, Our Zoo was filmed at Walton Hall and the upcoming Sky drama After Hours was shot in Lymm.
