MasterChef The Professionals Final (Tuesday, December 23, BBC2, 8pm).

Frozen (Christmas Day, Sky Movies Premiere, 12.30pm and 7pm).

Despite its global success, I have yet to be charmed by this icebound Disney animation. So this Christmas I will be jumping on the Frozen bandwagon and trying to hit the high notes of the chart-topping sound track Let it Go – wish me luck.

Downton Abbey (Christmas Day, ITV, 9pm).

Fitting several months into a two-hour episode was never going to be an easy challenge but this year’s Downton Abbey Christmas special has all the makings of a festive.
