GO bump in the night with some monster riffs.

Two nights out have been planned in Warrington to celebrate the Halloween weekend with a nod to the 'Devil's music'.

The Asylum club night returns with Halloween themed rock, metal and pop punk floor fillers on Friday, October 31, at the Lounge in Springfield Street.

Then on Saturday, November 1, Warrington rockers Dientes and The Electric Mafia will present a night of horror at Dog House in Buttermarket Street.

Lees Johnson, singer and guitarist with alternative rock band Dientes, said: "We’re gigging on All Hallows day so we’re hoping for a mix of ‘monsters’ left over from Halloween and ‘saints’ from the feast of All Hallows.

"It’s enjoyable doing themed nights as it adds more entertainment for the audience and makes it look like we’ve gone to the effort.

"We’re into visuals and projections so we’ll have to find something unsuitable to backdrop. We’re playing with the Electric Mafia so it’ll be dark, heavy and loud no matter what."

Dientes formed in 2010 as a passion project for desert rock fans Lees, Geoff Wynne, Keith Butler and Chris Roberts who juggle time in the band in between family and work commitments.

Dad-of-two Lees, who works in logistics, added: "Outside the band we’re four working dads in varying stages of middle aged decay. We’re lucky enough to have families that support us.

"Working around other commitments is a bit tough but we make the most of the time when we’re not in rehearsal.

"The web helps a great deal – new tunes and rehearsal recordings get posted online and ideas and revisions get batted around via email."

Dientes released their debut album, Numbers and Stations, last year and will be road testing some new songs at the Dog House gig.

Lees, aged 41, from Birchwood, said: "Playing live gives us the greatest buzz and writing and working with other musicians is awesome.

"The Warrington music scene's pretty good at the moment. There’s a great mix of bands in the town."

Meanwhile, Halloween sees the Asylum return in its new home.

The monthly club night started in February 2013 and brought some of the rising stars of the UK rock scene to perform in Warrington including Hacktivist and Blitz Kids, who have gone on to support 30 Seconds to Mars in Europe.

Gary the Zombie, Asylum's mascot, added: "We felt we had unfinished business when we were told our previous venue would no longer be holding live music and rock events.

"Considering our last night was was one of our biggest, what better time to come back than Halloween! We are the only alternative club night in Warrington, so there is no better place to be."

Kye Jones is guest DJ on the night alongside regular DJ and organiser Lee Harman.
