THEY may still be in school but a teenage band are hoping to make some noise when they take to the stage for their Warrington Music Festival debut next weekend.

Cryonic Noise was formed by a group of like-minded high school students in 2013.

The metal band is made up of guitarists Jack Reeves and Charlene Phillips, both aged 15, singer-songwriter Patrick Hemington, aged 14, bassist Tom Bradshaw, aged 15, and drummer Jamie Griffith, aged 14, who all met at Cardinal Newman High School.

Jack and Jamie began practising songs inspired by Lamb of God, Rammstein and Parkway Drive in Jack's garage last year.

They then teamed up with Charlene, Patrick and Tom who they thought would be perfect for sound they were trying to create.

So far Patrick has penned the original lyrics for the band's eight tracks which have all been uploaded to YouTube.

Once Jack had mixed their first song 'Some Day' on the computer and uploaded it they were hooked and Cryonic Noise was born.

Within a few short months the band were dreaming of taking the next step and performing their songs live, including their favourite, Alone.

Bassist Tom Bradshaw took to Facebook in search of opportunities to perform and spotted an advert by Futureproof Productions looking for bands to play in the town.

After playing at the Parr Hall and the Youth Cafe, Cryonic Noise were invited back to play at Warrington Music Festival.

Jamie said: "It's amazing that in the space of a year we have gone from me and Jack making minute-long songs in his garage to being able to write our own songs as a band and perform them live to audiences in Warrington.

“It feels really good playing the type of music we love to people who are into the same type of music and meeting other bands has made us want to push ourselves further."

Charlene added: "We're really grateful to Futureproof because they have given us some great opportunities and helped to support us and build up our confidence.

“It's great that they're around the same age because they're like close friends, this helps to make a cool atmosphere for gigging and we look forward to many more to come."
