YOU may think you know Manchester city centre – shops, cinemas and a couple of football grounds.
What if one of the latter was surrounded by a leg-sapping quagmire of hay bale walls, a military obstacle course, and treacherous water hazards?
If that sounds like your thing, then Men’s Health ‘Survival of the Fittest’ in November might well be for you.
A 10km assault trail that traverses Sports City (the home of Manchester City’s Etihad stadium, and other flagship facilities), the test is all about determination and endurance.
The course is part urban, part parkland, and likely to be pretty wet.
There will be 15 zones to test your stamina, including steep climbs, and water obstacles that will mean being fully submerged.
Organised by Rat Race Adventure Sports, it starts in Sports City before continuing over and under the canal, and into Phillips Park.
And watch out for the Wall of Fame, a sheer climb of eight feet which you have to get over to finish.
The Manchester event, on November 8, is one of a series of Survival of the Fittest events taking place around the country.
It costs £65 per person. To enter, go to ratrace.com.
