Disney on Ice

Liverpool Echo Arena

DISNEY On Ice's latest spectacular can perhaps best be broken up into three categories.

Something for the boys, something for the girls...and something for everybody.

Because after the cars and the princesses skated off at the interval, the rink was cleared for possibly the best Disney dynasty of them all - Toy Story 3.

You could argue that dedicating the entire second half of the show to Woody, Buzz and the gang's adventures was a bit over-elaborate - Mickey and Minnie barley got a look-in.

But you can't argue with its universal appeal or the way the dazzling ice dances and stunning choreography perfectly complement the storytelling of Disney's greatest achievement.

With the introduction of new performers like Slinky, Rex, Lotso...and some rather scary mutant children, your youngsters will be reeled into the drama like never before.

All in all, some sequences - like Tinkerbell and the Ken and Barbie wardrobe sketch - struggle to hold the toddlers' attentions for too long.

But the scenery, stunts - and of course the skating - are more spectacular than ever.

And rest assured - it's just as difficult to hold back the tears at the end of Toy Story 3 on ice as it was on film.
