LABOUR has suggested the Tories have a 'weak and wobbly grasp of Warrington's geography' after the party delivered campaign leaflets in the wrong constituency.

On Monday, a resident informed Labour members, who were campaigning across Great Sankey, that a leaflet for Warrington North's Conservative candidate Val Allen was delivered on Bicknell Close.

A post on Warrington South Labour's Facebook page on Monday slammed the Conservatives.

It said: "It seems the Tories have a weak and wobbly grasp of Warrington's geography!

"They are chaotically delivering Warrington North leaflets in Warrington South today.

"Their Warrington North candidate also looks rather like she has been photoshopped into the picture. Perhaps they both have...”

Labour's Warrington South candidate Cllr Faisal Rashid added: "What can I say now?

"Is it a surprise they don't even know their constituency boundaries?"

The Tories have responded to the criticism.

In a joint statement, Warrington South and Warrington North Conservative Associations said: "Delivering the wrong leaflet to the wrong house is unfortunate.

"Having Jeremy Corbyn negotiating Brexit would be a disaster.

"Val Allen and David Mowat will make a fantastic Conservative team for Warrington."
