WARRINGTON Borough Council has received 31,482 General Election postal vote applications.
The authority has confirmed the figure is a record number for the town.
The council's elections team is busy sifting through and opening the applications received ahead of the May 23 deadline.
Warrington polling stations will soon be gearing up for the election, with residents set to vote in locations including churches and even a pub.
Of the 129 polling stations across the borough, which also include schools and community centres, all will remain the same as in the previous elections, with the exception of four locations.
The changes are:
• Poplars and Hulme ward: The polling station will move next door from the Orford Neighbourhood Project to the Poplars Pub, function room.
• Poplars and Hulme ward: The polling station is moving from St Bridgets Primary School to the Hawthorn Centre on Orange Grove, located behind the school.
• Poulton North ward: There will be a change of location from Fearnhead Cross Community Centre to Church of the Resurrection and St Bridget, on St Bridgets Close.
• Stockton Heath ward: The polling station will revert back to Stockton Heath Methodist Church, following a temporary move to The Lighthouse in 2016 while the church was undergoing repairs.
• Voters attending the polling station at Barrow Hall Primary School should be aware that it has moved to the new site on Sophia Drive which should be accessed Lingley Green Avenue and not Omega.
The election takes place next Thursday.
