A POST from Momentum Warrington's Facebook account said the organisation 'does not support' Labour's Warrington South candidate Cllr Faisal Rashid.
It was published yesterday afternoon but was deleted shortly after.
The post said: "Warrington Momentum does not support the candidature of Faisal Rashid."
The grassroots political organisation, which is associated to Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, has not responded to a request for a comment.
It is understood the group has not met to vote or discuss whether they will support Cllr Rashid (LAB – Chapelford and Old Hall) in the General Election on June 8.
Conservative David Mowat will be defending his 2,750 majority in the constituency.
