Nurse was treated for depression

IN the months leading up to the trial Salisbury was treated at Cheadle Royal Hospital for depression.

Salisbury quit the RAF in 1975 to train as a nurse and served at intensive care units in Peterborough and King's Lynn, before moving to Leighton in 1993.

Born in Toxteth, Salisbury met and married Derek, a former RAF airman, who stood by her throughout the trial.

Daughter Jennifer is a serving police officer with the Greater Manchester force.

While the family lived in Shavington, she had worked part time in a chip shop around the corner from their home.

Salisbury's other daughter Andrea, who lives near her parents' present address in Mold, burst into tears when the verdicts were announced.
