THOUSANDS of revellers helped to make the weekend's Winsford Town Festival a success.
Organisers say that the festival's popular brand of family entertainment, live music, fairground fun and troupe dancing made for a great weekend for both young and old.
The warm weather helped too, with many residents taking advantage of the sporadic sunshine and donning shorts and T-shirts.
And festival co-ordinator Steve Smith said that he and the rest of the team would soon begin preparations to make sure that the 2005 town festival was just as enjoyable.
He said: "It was a steady but constant flow of people.
"I think there were 3,000 or 4,000 people there at the big concert on Saturday by the time the Queen tribute band QE2 came on.
"The atmosphere was electric.
"I think it was a success with the brand of music being to everyone's taste. There was something for people of all ages.
"I said five years ago when I started this that it would take a few years to get it all right and I think we have achieved that with the festival now.
"Businesses did well around the festival as well and their takings were up because of it."
Highlights of the weekend included performances from bands from both of Winsford's high schools, Woodford Lodge and Verdin, a samba parade and steel and wind bands.
The Roberts Bakery Band gave a rousing performance at Winsford Civic Hall on Sunday night, following the troupe dancing competition at the same venue.
