ROBERT RATHBONE The funeral took place at Albany Creek Memorial Park Queensland Australia on August 14th 2015 of Mr Robert Rathbone, husband of Mrs Kathleen Rathbone (nee Verdon). He died on August 7th aged 70 years. Robert was born in Grappenhall in 1944 and was the only child of John (Jack) and Iris Rathbone, he lived in Stockton Heath/ Appleton area most of his life before moving to Australia in April 2010. He was employed by British Steel, Thames Board Mills and UK Fertilisers staying with the UK company as an engineering fitter from the age of 35 until he retired at the age of 62. Robert enjoyed camping-caravanning with his wife and family, often into Europe. In December 2012 Robert sadly was diagnosed with Melanoma and associated cancer and was only given a short time to live, but having a strong character he fought bravely for over two years. Robert was a much loved husband, dad grandad, father in law, friend and relative, he will be sadly missed, always and forever by his heart broken wife Kathleen. The family would like to thank everyone who sent cards and flowers at this sad time.

I work with Bob at Thames Board, we were on shifts together and went out with Bob and Kathleen on shift social evenings. I was very sorry to hear of his passing RIP Bob I have fond memories of our friendship. Thinking of you, Kathleen at this sad time. Kindest regards to you and your family. Don Mackenzie.
